Stormers head coach Robbie Fleck hopes to see more from promising young winger Leolin Zas after he impressed against the Cheetahs.
Zas, 20, showed off his speed with an eye-catching burst up the touchline for a try in Bloemfontein, as he came into the side for the injured Kobus van Wyk.
Van Wyk's return to fitness now gives Fleck a decision to make when it comes to selection for this weekend's derby against the Sharks, but the performance from Zas hasn't gone unnoticed.
"If the team is performing on a consistent basis then selections are quite easy," Fleck told Sport24.
"I think it’s great that he (Zas) did do well (against the Cheetahs). He created a good opportunity for Jubbies (Juan de Jongh) there in the second half and he scored a good try.
"We would have liked to have got it to him a little bit more. I’m happy with him at the moment… he’s going well… he’s showing good maturity."
Fleck also hinted that he may rotate his front row, with JC van Rensburg, Scarra Ntubeni and co-captain Frans Malherbe all having started on the bench during the side's opening two wins over the Bulls and Cheetahs.
"Both front rows have done incredibly well. I think that Vince and Oli have done a good job in terms of setting the platform and should there be rotation you would expect the same from Frans and JC," Fleck added.
"It is tricky, but it is a long season. We’re in a situation with the props, we’re in a situation with the loose trio and now with the wings …there will be opportunities to rotate.
"As long as the squad understands it then I’m happy."
