Ireland look set to be without the services of Leinster back Luke Fitzgerald during the 2016 Six Nations due to injury.
Fitzgerald injured his knee during Ireland's open training session at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, according to the Irish Times.
The 28-year-old has suffered suspected medial ligament damage in his left knee and could be out for between six to eight weeks.
Ireland are expected to confirm Fitzgerald's setback early next week.
Injuries have prevented Fitzgerald in the past from adding to his total of 35 caps since making his debut in 2006. He last appeared for his country as a try-scoring replacement in their Rugby World Cup quarter-final loss to Argentina last year.
