Dan Fish's early try was enough for Cardiff Blues to secure a 10-3 victory over Edinburgh at Arms Park in the PRO12.

With four wins on home soil in a row, the Arms Park was treated to another bright start.

It came from the first attack, with the ball spread out wide, releasing Aled Summerhill. He in turn released Dan Fish, who flew over just two minutes into what threatened to be a long night for Edinburgh. Rhys Patchell took the lead to seven with the conversion.

The hosts looked like they had another try when Manoa Vosawai charged towards the line, but TMO interference saw it chalked off for what was deemed a double movement.

Minutes later though, the lead became double figures thanks to Patchell's penalty.

Edinburgh cut that lead back to seven, Nathan Fowles firing over after a kick towards the corner resulted in a penalty.

Fish almost broke again soon after the game restarted, but was cut off midway through what threatened to be a pulsating break.

A kick to the corner again looked like yielding try number two, but Vosawai lost control of possession after crossing the try line.

Patchell hit the posts as the Blues dominance continued, before nearly going through for himself after kicking over the top.

That was half-time, and Blues looked well placed to make it five home wins on the bounce.

Edinburgh were reduced to 14 soon after the break, Rory Sutherland finding himself in the bin for 10 minutes.

Blues struggled to take advantage though, as Patchell missed a kick at the posts as he searched to add extra points to the lead.

It wasn't a great few minutes for Patchell, who thought he'd added clear space after going over. But TMO involvement cancelled that out, judging that he'd gone into touch in the process.

As time wore on, Blues didn't capitalise on their lead though, and Edinburgh could sniff a way back into the tie. But it didn't come, and Cardiff were able to record a tight 10-3 victory.
