Gloucester head coach Laurie Fisher appears set to step down after speaking out on social media following the team’s loss to Harlequins.

Despite a big lead in the second half Harlequins fought back to snatch a 30-27 win thanks to a late Luc Jones penalty.

The home crowd at Kingsholm were unsurprisingly furious, with Fisher taking full responsibility and insinutating that his time at the club was up.

“Unbelievable capitulation. Clearly not good enough. My responsibility. Time to make room for someone else,” Fisher said.

Saturday’s defeat, Gloucester’s tenth of the season, leaves the club in ninth place and nine points off the top six.
