Australia blindside flanker Scott Fardy did his best to avoid discussing his team's chances in Saturday's Rugby World Cup Final against New Zealand at Twickenham.

Fardy was one of the Wallabies' standout performers in their 29-15 semi-final victory over Argentina on Sunday.

But he refused to discuss how the Wallabies would prepare to take on New Zealand and the rivalry between the countries.

"I am not give you anything on that," said Fardy.

"It's a game. It's always a big clash between us, we know we are neighbours.

"We are rivals, fierce rivals and have been for a number of years."

Australia came through a tough pool where they beat England, Wales and Fiji before edging out Scotland in their quarter-final and then seeing off los Pumas in Sunday's semi-final.

Despite those tough matches, Fardy doesn't believe being battle hardened will give them an edge over the All Blacks in the final.

"Not at all, really," he added.

"The Kiwis played the South Africans and they are one of the more physical sides, so they will be just as prepared as we are."
