Sale Sharks have announced that formers All Blacks lock Bryn Evans has agreed and signed an new three-0year deal with the club.

Evans joined Sharks from Biarritz before the start of last season having previously played three seasons in the Premiership with London Irish.

He was born in Hastings New Zealand and played Super Rugby for The Blues and the Hurricanes before heading to the Northern Hemisphere.

His performances during last season made him one of the leading locks in the Premiership and his line-out skills including ball stealing made him one of the stand-out players in the competition.

Sale’s director of rugby Steve Diamond said: “Bryn was outstanding during his first season and was a model of consistency for us, just missing one game.

“Bryn was also a very worthy winner of the Players’ Player of the Season Award. He is highly respected within the squad and is just the type of player we need to help us achieve our ambitions at Sale Sharks.”

Evans said: “It’s good to get the deal signed.

“I feel really settled here at the club, everyone here made me feel really welcome which made it really easy to go and do my job. I’m just happy to be here at the club, what is happening at the club at the moment is very exciting.

“Everything is pushing in the right direction, with the guys we’re bringing in and retaining, I just wanted to be a part of that.”
