Etzebeth named new SARPA President

Springbok and Stormers lock Eben Etzebeth has been appointed president of the South African Rugby Players Association (SARPA).

The 24-year-old replaces Springbok hooker Bismarck du Plessis, who is playing his rugby with French club Montpellier.

Etzebeth will be involved in key issues regarding players' employment, and is honoured to be named in this capacity.

“It’s a huge honour for me to carry the responsibility of representing professional players in South African in this manner,”said  Etzebeth via a press statement.

Kevin Luiters from the Kings has also been elected to the  SARPA executive committee.
