Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth will not be joining Saracens according to reports in the UK press.
“It’s not going to happen,” Saracens boss Mark McCall was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail on Wednesday.
The star second-row was rumoured to be close to signing on with the Saracens after Netwerk24 revealed the deal on Sunday.
Etzebeth is currently contracted to play for the Stormers during the 2017 Super Rugby season. The 24-year-old has already won over 50 caps for South Africa since making his Test debut in 2012.
