Etzebeth keen for Matfield to bow out on a high

Springboks lock Eben Etzebeth is relishing the opportunity to pack down alongside Victor Matfield in South Africa's second row when they face Argentina in Friday's bronze medal play-off in London.

Matfield will captain the Boks in his 127th and last Test and Etzebeth is keen for his team-mate to leave the international stage on a high at the Olympic Stadium.

"It has been a huge honour to play with Victor," said Etzebeth.

"A guy with 120 Tests for South Africa doesn't come around every day and it is a great chance to play alongside him in his final Test.

"Any young player can learn off him.

"He will always be remembered for many years to come.

"We want one more big performance, not just from him, but the entire team."
