Stormers lock Eben Etzebeth is an injury doubt for the Cape Town-based franchise ahead of Saturday's clash with the Chiefs at Newlands.
The Stormers revealed the news via a press release on their official website.
"Lock Eben Etzebeth took a bang on his shoulder against the Sharks which has affected his previous (chest) injury a bit, which is normal for two injuries in such close proximity," read the press release.
He is a bit uncomfortable and a call will be made on his participation later this week."
Etzebeth was sidelined for the entire 2014 campaign with an ankle injury and a chest complaint meant he only played his first game of the 2015 season when the Stormers beat the Sharks at the weekend.
Meanwhile, utility back Jaco Taute's return from a knee injury will take longer than expected and he will not be part of the Stormers squad when they head on their overseas tour after this weekend's match.
Stormers coach Allister Coetzee said the the Springbok was initially on course to make a return at the start of March but he suffered another setback.
"If everything had gone to plan Jaco would have been available last week already, but there has been a slight delay in his progress," explained Coetzee.
"It was not something that our medical team had expected.
"Jaco will now stay with the rehabilitation regime a bit longer and by the looks of things he may only be ready when we return from tour (in a month's time)."
