Peter O’Mahony is in a race against time to be fit for Munster’s Champions Cup clash with Leicester on Saturday.
The Munster captain picked up a back injury in their PRO12 match against Glasgow last weekend, but Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus is confident O’Mahony will be fit to play against Leicester.
Centre Jaco Taute and Duncan Williams are also struggling with rib and shoulder injuries respectively, but all three players are expected to play this weekend.
“Injuries, since Saturday, just Peter. Peter O’Mahony has a little bit of a stiff back,” Erasmus told the Irish Times
“The other concern was Jaco Taute, just bumps and bruises on the ribs. The other guys that played, Duncan Williams got a little bit of a shoulder but none of them should be a doubt for this weekend.”
Good news for Munster is that fly-half Tyler Bleyendaal’s ankle injury has improved after missing the Glasgow game.
