Rebels wing Tom English is excited at the prospect of going head to head with the joint leading team in this year’s Super Rugby tournament, the Chiefs, in Hamilton on Saturday.
English, who returned from injury last week, told the Melbourne Rebels' official website that despite the loss, his team had put in a good performance against the Brumbies and were eager to get back on the playing field.
"The Chiefs are one of the top teams in the competition, it’s really exciting to play against them knowing that we played so well last week," he said.
English pointed out Damian McKenzie as the danger man for the Chiefs.
“Damian McKenzie, I’ll hands down say he’s probably the best back in the competition at the moment." he said.
“He’s a pocket rocket so it will be exciting for us boys to go up against them to see what we’ve got."
On his successful return from injury against the Brumbies last weekend, English added: “I got eight minutes of fury, tested out the knee and got tackled once.
“It was good to get out there and know that I can get tackled and my knee survived the impact.
“It wasn’t much time but it still helps up there when it comes to stepping out there on the weekend.”
