‘England’s set phase not best in the world’

Springbok forwards coach Matt Proudfoot doesn't believe England have a better set phase than New Zealand and even Australia.

Asked whether South Africa faced their biggest test yet this year in the scrums and lineouts when they take on England on Saturday, Proudfoot didn't see it that way.

"I wouldn't say that to the All Blacks coaching team," Proudfoot said. "We know it's a big challenge, but to say it's a bigger challenge than the All Blacks in New Zealand or Australia in Brisbane…"

Instead, Proudfoot says it doesn't matter which one of the top teams in the world you face in their own backyard.

"If you're weak in a certain area, they will exploit it," Proudfoot told Netwerk24.

Proudfoot added that Ireland showed with their win over the All Blacks that with the right intensity you can win any Test.

"The key there was the execution of a good plan."
