England have released Elliot Daly and Matt Kvesic from their squad for this week's clash with Italy, but Josh Beaumont and Maro Itoje are retained.

The outside centre and openside flanker are left out by head coach Eddie Jones ahead of the second round of matches in the Six Nations.

Jonathan Joseph seems set to continue in the number 13 slot alongside Owen Farrell, with Ollie Devoto and Jack Nowell back-up options.

Up front, however, there could be possible changes as the versatile Itoje remains in the mix with Sale number eight Beaumont, with the young duo both hoping to impress in training enough to earn a place in the matchday 23 in Rome.
