The Kings will have to make do without dynamic flanker Jacques Engelbrecht for their game against the Highlanders on Saturday.

The 27-year-old has been a standout performer for the Kings thus far in their debut campaign, with his hard-grafting approach gaining many plaudits.

However, the former South Western Districts man will be confined to the sidelines for the immediate future because of an ankle injury.

Kings director of rugby Alan Solomons has revealed that Engelbrecht went for X-rays after his side's 72-10 hammering at the hands of the Waratahs and that while no break was found, the injury would require at least a week of rest.

Winger Sergeal Petersen, who is now on duty with the South African U20 side, sustained a grade two tear to his right hamstring in the same match and will be sidelined for two to three weeks.
