Munster have confirmed that Keith Earls has been ruled out for six to eight weeks after he damaged the medial ligament in his knee.

Munster have announced that Keith Earls is sidelined for approximately six to eight weeks after sustaining medial ligament damage to his left knee.

Wing Earls suffered the injury during his side's Heineken Cup clash with Edinburgh last week.

He was ready to join up with Ireland afterwards but injury meant he didn't travel to Carton House.

“Keith, who signed a two year IRFU contract this week to stay with the province, underwent a scan on Monday before meeting with the specialist yesterday in Dublin where the injury prognosis was confirmed,” read a Munster statement.
