Sale have announced that hooker Marc Jones and scrum-half Will Cliff have signed for the Premiership club, both on two-year deals.
Jones, 29, made his first-team debut for the Sharks back in the Premiership winning campaign in 2005/06 and went on to play 158 games.
Cliff, 26, was born in Macclesfield and made his Sharks debut against Brive back in 2009 in the Challenge Cup quarter-final. He made over 100 appearances for the Sharks before moving to Bristol in 2015.
“It’s great news for the club and the supporters that both Marc and Will have decided to return to the club. They both know what we are about, the culture of the club and where we want to be,” said boss Steve Diamond.
Speaking about signing, Jones said: “I have some great memories of playing at Sale Sharks and living in the North West and am looking forward to playing for the club again. I have enjoyed my time here at Bristol and would like to thank the club and the fans for their support.”
Cliff was also delighted about returning to the Sharks, saying: “I grew up watching Sale Sharks and am looking forward to be returning to the club who I played for from leaving school. Living and playing in Bristol has been enjoyable and the club and the supporters have been great to me and my family.”
Diamond added: “Our signing programme is moving along nicely and we are just awaiting news on work permits and visas before we are able to announce some international signings.”
