Springbok lock Pieter-Steph du Toit could play this weekend as he is set to resume full training on Monday.
South Africa team Doctor Conrad von Hagen, confirmed that the second-rower will take part in full training as he his now in his final phase of rehabilitation after du Toit damaged his hamstring two weeks ago against the Cheetahs in Cape Town.
Von Hagen also confirmed that Lionel Mapoe has recovered from his back spasm and along with Trevor Nyakane, who has recovered from a shoulder injury, will both participate in full training.
Playmaker Elton Jantjies has joined general practice but he will sit out of contact sessions until Thursday after which he will be assessed, following a broken finger.
"We want to give Elton as much time as possible," Von Hagen told reporters.
"The plan is for him to take contact in training on Thursday, we don’t want to expose him to that slight chance that he falls and somebody steps on his hand.
"We’ve made him a custom brace, to protect the middle finger on his right hand and he’ll be training with it."
