Du Plessis has not recovered from a hamstring injury sustained the injury against England and did not feature against Italy.

As a result, Coenie Oosthuizen is expected to continue at tighthead with Lions prop Julian Redelinghuys, who made his debut in Padova last Saturday, set to feature off the bench.

In other injury news from the bok camp, loose forward Warren Whiteley has also not recovered from a calf starin and will not be available.

The Test against Wales falls outside of the World Rugby official Test window so Johan Goosen, Bryan Habana, Bakkies Botha (who has retired), JP Pietersen and Schalk Burger have all returned to their respective clubs in France and Japan.
