Northampton have been struck by an injury blow ahead of the new season after Tom Stephenson suffered a broken leg in a pre-season fixture.
The 22-year-old went down injured against Rotherham Titans on Saturday, with the wing later revealing the extent of the damage on Twitter.
"A lot of people asking what I've done. I have snapped my tibia and fibula (hence the loud crack) but I have had an operation this morning and feeling a lot better, thanks for the support, it's been amazing, and I'll be back soon!" said Stephenson, who played for England U20s.
Northampton have one more pre-season match, against Ulster on Saturday, before their Premiership kicks-off at home to Bath on September 3.
