The Kings were dealt a double blow with the news that prop Schalk Ferreira and flanker Thembelani Bholi were injured in Saturday's loss to the Crusaders.

The duo will return to South Africa for further medical attention and rehabilitation after Ferreira sustained a concussion and Bholi suffered a tore his hamstring in the 57-24 defeat in Christchurch.

Both players boarded a flight back to Port Elizabeth on Monday morning from Wellington.

They will be replaced by Liam Hendrics and Aidon Davis, who are flying to New Zealand in preparation for the Kings' final tour match against the Hurricanes at the Westpac Stadium on Friday.
