Scotland have suffered a double blow after back-row Johnnie Beattie and wing Sean Lamont were ruled out of their upcoming meeting with Wales.
Beattie sustained damage to his right ankle and Lamont injured ligaments in his right knee during Saturday's match against France at Murrayfield.
“Both players were scanned at SPIRE Murrayfield hospital last night and will be subject to further review tomorrow by consultant orthopaedic surgeon Graham Lawson. However, they are unavailable for selection this weekend,” team doctor James Robson said in an update.
“In addition prop Ryan Grant has a hip/abdomen injury which will require further assessment. He will undergo MRI imaging at SPIRE Murrayfield.”
Scotland's medical bulletin continued: “A further seven Scotland players will be under the care of lead physiotherapist Paul McGinley and his colleague Stephen Mutch over the next 24-48 hours as a result of injuries sustained yesterday though at this stage none is thought to be serious.”
