Double blow for Hurricanes

The Hurricanes will be without Blade Thomson and Jeffery Toomaga-Allen for the rest of the Super Rugby season due to respective injuries.

According to NZ Newswire, forward Thomson is set for shoulder surgery this week, which is a setback as he can cover at lock and back-row.

Meanwhile, tighthead prop Toomaga-Allen came off during Saturday's win against the Blues with a broken forearm and will miss three months.

However, scrum-half TJ Perenara believes the team can cope despite the double injury blow as they look to launch another title push in 2016.

"Injuries come to every team and it's how you deal with it," he said.

"I'm confident in the boys that get brought in and the job that they can do for us."
