Ohio put San Diego to the sword when they properly outclassed the visitors by 55-29 in the only match in the USA PRO League on Sunday at Memorial Park in Obetz.

The home side obliterated the San Diego's defence, running in eight tries to four, which includes a hat-trick for debutant Dominic Waldouck along with a brace apiece for Spike Davis and Alex Elkins while Tyler Howden added the eighth five pointer for Ohio.

Two tries from utility back Ben Leatigaga while Kalei Konrad and replacement back Zach Pangelinan added a try apiece for the visitors' four tries.

Captain Robbie Shaw slotted three conversions and a penalty while his teammate Shaun Davies also succeeded with three conversions which brought the points added off the tee to 15 points. Kurt Morath kicked three conversions and one penalty for the visitors.

Ohio made good use of their strong ball carriers to run hard at the visitors' defence allowing them to convert quality possession and terrority into points.

Former Wasps and Saints midfielder Waldouck set the scene alight, on debut, with his blistering pace and quick feet, the outside centre's first try came as early as the fourth minute, he would go on to complete his hat-trick in the final quarter of the game.

It looked like the visitors neutralised the attacking prowess of Ohio as half-time approached as the players headed into the tunnel with the home side enjoying a slender four-point lead.

It was, however, the home side's second half performance, which saw them outscore the visitors by four tries to two which helped them to secure a remarkable 55-29 victory.

The win for Ohio means that the unbeaten Denver, who have a game in hand, are now five points clear of both Ohio and San Diego
