Steffon Armitage's court case has been delayed, after the French court sent it back citing a need for further investigation.

“The court considered that there were too many grey areas in this case at the end of a particularly rushed police investigation,” said Virginie Pin, Armitage’s lawyer.

The former England international is accused of assualting a 30-year-old man last December while out celebrating with his team-mates in Toulon.

Armitage admitted to being "very drunk" at the time of the incident, with the prosecution seeking a suspended jail term of five to six months and a fine of 5000 euros.
