‘Defence will be key against Toulouse’ – Launchbury

Wasps captain Joe Launchbury has urged his team to up their defence ahead of their Champions Cup clash with Toulouse on Sunday.

Wasps got their campaign off to a flyer last weekend with a 82-14 thrashing of Zebre in which they scored 12 tries. Toulouse, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back after their first round defeat to Connacht.

"It's hard too put that performance into context ahead of next week's game. We understand there are much bigger challenges to come and how tough this group is," Launchbury said.

"We're delighted to get five points and we're delighted to have scored the tries we did. We were disappointed to concede twice before half-time, especially with the rolling maul try, that hurt. But we're pleased to get off to a good start.

"We're really happy with the way we're attacking at the moment and we've got some really dangerous players with ball in hand. What's key for us and something we have to improve on is our defence. We know we're going to score tries with the x-factor players we've got but we need to tighten up.

"You go to France and you get what you can, teams like Toulouse are strong at home so we will look to defend well, have a string set piece and get as much ball as we can."
