Former Australia coach Robbie Deans has ruled himself out of the running to join Leinster for next season.
Deans, who is coaching the Barbarians this week for their matches with Ireland and England, is currently based in Japan with the Panasonic Wild Knights.
Describing the proposition as "attractive", Deans said that the timeline wouldn't be right for him to take over in the Irish capital.
“It’s always nice that people think you’re capable of doing a job like that, but in terms of the realities, I’m currently contracted to Panasonic,” Deans told The Irish Times.
“I would say it is very attractive… for someone. But not for me. Not in the timelines that would suit me at the minute.
"It’s a great destination, a great place to live and play the game and there is great competition.”
Deans also refused to discuss whether he had held any talks with Leinster since the departure of Matt O'Connor.
“It’s a constant in the game as always, just as it is for the players. It’s the norm."
