Former South Africa head coach Peter de Villiers is ready to return to professional rugby, with his eyes set on a top job.
De Villiers coached South Africa between 2008 and 2011, leading the team to a series victory over the British and Irish Lions.
The enigmatic coach has been working recently with the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, coaching their Varsity Shield side.
His last game as coach of the Springboks was the 11-9 quarter-final defeat to Australia at the Rugby World Cup.
“I feel refreshed and look forward to start coaching at a high level again,” De Villiers told iafrica.com
“Through the years I gained a lot of experience on different levels and I feel like I need to give some of that back (to the game).
“I’ll have to see where an opportunity arises. I’ll even consider offers from overseas.”
