All Blacks full-back Israel Dagg will make his Super Rugby return when the Crusaders face the Highlanders in Dunedin on Saturday.
He is one of five changes to the seven-time champions' starting line-up after last weekend's opening round defeat to the Rebels in Christchurch.
Crusaders head coach Todd Blackadder has named Wyatt Crockett to start in the number one jersey this week, with Joe Moody and Nepo Laulala providing prop cover from the bench.
Scott Barrett will start at lock for the first time in Super Rugby, pairing up with Luke Romano with Dominic Bird dropping down to the bench.
Colin Slade shifts from full-back to fly-half, with Daniel Carter recovering from a knock to the leg in last week’s match, and Dagg steps in at 15.
Ryan Crotty and Tom Taylor have switched places, Crotty taking the starting inside centre spot this week and Taylor taking a spot on the bench.
