Crusaders full-back Israel Dagg could face the Cheetahs in Christchurch on Saturday after recovering from his thigh injury.
Dagg's only appearance this season was when the Crusaders beat the Highlanders in Dunedin but he only lasted for 37 minutes before he left the field due to a small tear to his quadriceps muscle.
The injury ruled him out of the seven-time champions' subsequent matches against the Chiefs and Lions.
Dagg took part in the Crusaders' training on Tuesday and if he returns to the starting line-up it will be at the expense of Tom Taylor who played at full-back during Dagg's absence.
Crusaders assistant coach Aaron Mauger said Dagg is avaliable for selection.
"It is highly likely he will be involved – yeah," Mauger told Fairfax Media.
"He performed really well in the last outing before he hurt his leg. He is in a pretty good space, as well, and excited."
Meanwhile, right wing Johnny McNicholl will miss the Cheetahs clash and the Crusaders' upcoming tour to South Africa after he sustained a knee injury in last weekend's 34-6 win over the Lions in Christchurch.
