Cardiff Blues wing Alex Cuthbert has not been ruled out of playing for Wales in this week's clash with Australia at the Millennium Stadium.
Cardiff Blues winger Alex Cuthbert has not been ruled out of playing for Wales in Saturday's Test fixture with Australia at the Millennium Stadium.
The 23-year-old, who has been struggling with ankle injury he sustained playing for the Blues, is being “assessed” ahead of Saturday's match.
Cardiff Blues boss Phil Davies said his wing has “recovered well” and is with the Welsh camp, but added he doesn't know if he'll play this weekend.
“He may be involved next week, but I am not sure,” he told BBC Sport.
“We are not sure what his actual status is but it is encouraging for us with the Heineken Cup around the corner.”
The Welsh Rugby Union added: “The Blues and WRU medical staff have been working closely together to ensure Alex returns to fitness as quickly and safely as possible.
“He will continue to be assessed by the WRU medics this week.”
