Clermont have complained over a lack of consistency after their Canadian lock Jamie Cudmore was cited again this week.

Cudmore, who had just returned from a 10-week suspension for trampling on Jacques Burger of Saracens, was cited for punching Perpignan's Grégory Le Corvec during Wednesday's Top 14 clash at Parc des Sports Marcel Michelin.

Le Corvec left the field dazed after the incident, and later received five stitches in his mouth, underwent a scan and will be out for at least eight days, according to the Catalan club.

The Canada international has been temporarily suspended and will miss Sunday's match against Bourgoin. If found guilty he faces a ban of 35 days as his woeful disciplinary record grows ever longer.

Clermont Jean-Marc Lhermet has however voiced his frustration at the disciplinary commissioners after Perpignan number eight Henry Tuilagi was not cited for fending off Clermont skipper Aurélien Rougerie with his forearm while carrying the ball.

Rougerie spent the night in hospital with an injured larynx and will be out for a least ten days.

“I'm not contesting Jamie Cudmore's citing but I don't understand how Tuilagi's tackle, which was at least as dangerous, if not more, was not cited,” said Lhermet.

Perpignan president Paul Goze has reacted by calling Clermont response “grotesque”

“The intention to turn the situation round and accuse Tuilgai is scandalous ,” Goze told Rugbyrama

“You can't compare the two, one where Tuilagi was carrying the ball, the other a characteristic aggression.”

“Clermont should stop being cry babies. Lhermet and the Michelin bourgeois should stop handing out lessons.”
