Argentina scrum-half Tomás Cubelli can't wait to get started with the Brumbies after arriving in Canberra this week.
Cubelli has joined the Australian franchise to replace Nic White, after he was previously set to feature for the new Argentine franchise in Super Rugby.
The 26-year-old admitted that leaving Argentina hadn't been an easy decision but that he couldn't reject such an exciting opportunity.
“It a very difficult decision for me having playing with the development teams of Argentina and the Pumas for some years and they’re my friends,” Cubelli said.
“I (thought) it was time to put my rugby first and I think it was a great opportunity so I’m very happy.”
Cubelli has been impressed by the Brumbies' ability to turn over ball at the breakdown, spearheaded by David Pocock, and is hoping to add to the team's successful past.
“I will be behind them (forwards). I’ll just wait for the turnovers there,” he joked.
“I used to see the game of the Brumbies in Super Rugby when I was young in Argentina.
“It’s a team with a lot of history so I’ve been following the teams in the previous seasons, they’re doing really well. I hope this next season’s going to be exceptional -We have a good team and can do good work.”
