Cronin facing 12 weeks out

Date published: April 29 2015

After medical advice, Ireland hooker Sean Cronin has this afternoon undergone surgery to repair damage to a tendon in his shoulder.

Leinster reported that the operation had gone well, but that Cronin will miss the rest of the domestic season.

Cronin will therefore not be involved for games against Treviso and Edinburgh in the Pro12.

The expected rehabilitation period is 12 weeks, meaning that Cronin should be back in time for Ireland's Rugby World Cup campaign if he returns on time in August.
