Scotland scrum-half and captain Greig Laidlaw was delighted with his performance as he contributed three assists on Saturday.

The Gloucester number nine described his showing as ‘one of my best performances’ in a high-scoring encounter with Argentina.

“Personally, I do feel that was one of my best performances in a Scotland jersey and we were able to move the ball fast, that is credit to the forwards with how they rucked at times which left the ball on a plate for me,” Laidlaw told the Gloucester website.

“I was happy with my performance, and I was happy with how every one of the boys played and I thought everyone stuck in and a bit of grit and determination goes a long way.

“We’re really happy with that performance, we scored 41 points and scored some really nice tries.

“Slight negative is that we let them score 31 points, and we probably shouldn’t have let them score that many. So things to work on for next week, especially with the best team in the world coming to town.”

November doesn’t get any easier for Scotland with the arrival of the All Blacks in Edinburgh. Laidlaw however knows what to expect from the best side in the world.

“There’s no qualms about it, they are the best team in the world and they have some great players.

“We’re going enjoy this win and probably have a couple of beers before getting back to the drawing board and go out, give our best performance at Murrayfield by playing with pride and passion.”
