Toulon back-row forward Steffon Armitage, who was in custody overnight, is to appear in court on February 10 for aggravated violence, Reuters report.

The 29-year-old European Player of the Year for 2014, along with team-mate Xavier Chiocci, was summoned to a police station on Wednesday in connection with an alleged assault that took place on December 13, 2014.

Chiocci was released without charge while England hopeful Armitage spent the night in custody and has now been set a court date for a week on Tuesday.
