Quade Cooper’s comeback from a shoulder injury has been pushed back another week after failing to recover for the Sharks game this weekend.
The Reds star will now target next week’s clash with the Western Force, but he will need to prove his fitness by completing the necessary contact work beforehand.
“It’s only a matter of days, he should be right next week,” Will Genia told the ARU website.
“He’s an incredible healer and he works very hard in terms of his rehabilitation.”
With Cooper missing, youngster Jake McIntyre should get another shot in the fly-half role, having impressed against the Rebels last week.
“I thought he did very well, he was obviously chucked in the deep end where he was put in a position to call and dictate how we wanted to play the game and I thought he did a really good job,” added Genia.
