Former All Blacks centre Conrad Smith is planning to stay with Top 14 side Pau beyond the end of his contract this season.
Smith was in attendance alongside Dan Carter for New Zealand's win over France in Paris last weekend and was also pictured watching the world champions train earlier in the week.
The 35-year-old is a double Rugby World Cup winner with New Zealand and finished his Test career after the 2015 final with 94 caps.
"He has said he wants to continue and it could be done quickly," his agent Laurent Laffitte explained to RMC.
Smith has started nine matches this season in the Top 14 for Pau, who are currently 12th in the league and five points clear of relegation.
