Connacht have released a statement explaining that Mils Muliaina was released on bail without charge by South Wales Police.

The former All Black is being investigated for an alleged incident in Cardiff last month and spoke with the police after Friday's Challenge Cup game against Gloucester.

"Connacht Rugby can confirm that Mils Muliaina was released on bail, without charge, on Saturday April 4th," read a club statement.

"South Wales Police are continuing their investigating into an alleged incident in Cardiff last month.

"Muliaina returned to Galway on Sunday April 5th having cooperated fully with police investigations. He denies any wrong doing and will meet with Connacht Rugby officials in the coming days to review the situation internally.

"As this remains a legal matter, Connacht Rugby can provide no further comment at this time."
