James was one of ten possible ‘foreign’ players that could be selected by France ahead of the November Tests.

The 32-year-old Australia joined Clermont back in 2006 and has signed a two-year contract extension with an option of a third year, taking him to a decade with les Jaunards.

Former All Black centre Stanley has signed a three-year extension, keeping him at the club until 2017 with the option of a fourth year.

Stanley made over 50 appearances in Super Rugby over five years for the Blues.

He joined Clermont in 2012 and has scored nine tries in 56 appearances to date, working alongside plenty of talent in the midfield including French internationals Wesley Fofana and Aur
