Clermont finals record not an issue

Morgan Parra insists Clermont aren't concerned about their poor finals record as they prepare to take on Stade Français on Saturday.

Les Jaunards have lost two of the last three European Cup finals, while they needed 11 attempts before winning their first-ever French title.

Last weekend they booked their place in the Top 14 final against Stade by beating Toulouse in Bordeaux, and Parra believes that regardless of their history in deciders, Clermont will not be affected by it.

"(The Champions Cup final) is not forgotten, it's in the back of our minds but we have to look ahead," Parra told RMC Sport.

"We've got the opportunity to make up for it and with another final, which is important for the city and for our supporters.

"We often lose in the final but I'd prefer to go to 15 finals and think that I might win one than not be there at all. The more times you get there, the more chance you have of winning one.

"We know that sport at the highest level is cruel. Stade Français want to win as much as we do it so it will be 50/50 and a big game."
