Chudley: ‘Northampton a tough place to go’

Exeter Chiefs scrum-half Will Chudley is prepared for a bracing atmosphere at Franklin's Gardens on Friday when the side face Northampton.

Chudley and the Chiefs momentarily moved into first in the Premiership with their win over Sale last Saturday, before Saracens regained top spot the following day.

Northampton meanwhile lost on the road to struggling London Irish, marking the latest inconsistent blip in their up-and-down season so far.

Despite that patchy form, Chudley knows Exeter will have to be at their best to ensure victory over the 2014 Premiership champions.

“Going up there is very much like Sandy Park,” Chudley told the Exeter Chiefs website.

“It’s always a great atmosphere, they have very passionate supporters and they have a great team. We know it’s going to be tough going there, it always is, but the fact that lost last week will just add to things.

“Saints are a massive threat, like a lot of teams in the division, so we need to be on song if we are to get anything at their place.”
