Chiefs lose another lock

The Chiefs have been dealt another blow to their second row stocks after Michael Allardice was ruled out for rest of the season.

The 23-year-old suffered a ruptured medial cruciate ligament and will be out of action for eight weeks as a result.

He was making his first Super Rugby start against the Hurricanes, with the Chiefs already deprived of Brodie Retallick and Matt Symons while second row partner Michael Fitzgerald also left the field in the first half.

Allardice was injured when Canes prop Reggie Goodes put in a no arms hit at a ruck, and the front row has been cited for his action.
