Chiefs change three for Hurricanes

Chiefs boss Dave Rennie has made three changes to his starting XV for Saturday's derby with the Hurricanes in Wellington.

Lock Michael Allardice get his first start of the season and replaces Matt Symons in the only change to the pack which lost to the Melbourne Rebels two weeks ago.

Amongst the backs, Damian McKenzie takes over from Andrew Horrell in the number 10 jersey, while Hosea Gear comes in for Tim Nanai-Williams on the right wing.

Mitchell Graham, Liam Squire and Maama Vaipulu all come onto the reserve bench.

Ahead of one of the most anticipated matches this season, coach Rennie said: “The Hurricanes are the form team of the competition.

"They are a team full of experienced players and have combinations that have played together for a number of seasons. They have been consistent and played some great footy.

“A win to the Hurricanes will probably see them seal the conference and if we win, we will pull them back towards the pack, so it is a big day for both sides.”
