Michael Cheika is keen for Kurtley Beale to return to Australia sooner rather than later despite the London Wasps playmaker being the highest paid player in the Premiership.
The 27-year-old Beale signed a two-year deal with Wasps in May worth 1.5 million pounds.
A raptured patella has prevented Beale from making his debut for his new English club, but Director of Rugby Dai Young expects the versatile back to return by December.
Cheika has confirmed he will speak to Beale while in the northern hemisphere next month to find out if he was open to cutting his Premiership stint short and returning to Australia.
"We've had some discussions over the phone and he came to the match against Argentina in London," Cheika told Australian media.
"He's back on deck around December for Wasps, so we'll see what form he gets back into and what decisions are regarding next year or the year after and his contract status, and go from there."
