Cheetahs scrum-halves Shaun Venter and Tian Meyer have signed new deals with the Bloemfontein outfit until the end of 2017.

Venter joined the Cheetahs for the 2014 season after the Kings were relegated from Super Rugby at the end of the 2013 season.

The 29-year-old also has international Sevens' experience after representing South Africa during World Rugby's 2009/10 Sevens Series.

Meyer started his rugby career with the Sharks at U19 level, before moving to the Pumas in 2010 where he featured in 19 matches and scored six tries in his debut season.

The 27-year-old wore the number nine jersey in Griquas' victory over the Golden Lions in the 2014 Vodacom Cup Final before making his first Super Rugby appearance for the Cheetahs that same year.
