Henco Venter takes over from Carl Wegner in the second row, after Wegner was injured in last weekend's 19-16 defeat to the Sharks in Durban.

Venter's place on the replacements bench will be taken by Waltie Vermeulen, in the only other change to the match day squad.

The Cheetahs are currently in fifth place on the standings while Griquas – who are winless after three matches – are in seventh position with three points.
