Cheetahs flanker Willie Britz is heading to Japan at the end of the season to join the Shining Arcs in the Top League.

The 26-year-old joined the Cheetahs at the start of this season from the Lions, and has made eight starts so far in their Super Rugby campaign.

He will not be with the Free State side during the Currie Cup campaign, however he will return from his stint in Japan to play for the Cheetahs in Super Rugby next season.

"Super excited to announce that I will be joining the Shining Arcs in Japan after the Super Rugby season this year," he said via his Instagram account

"Such an honor and massive opportunity to go and keep improving my rugby skills and learn about other cultures and ways of life and be able to represent an amazing club like the Shining Arcs."
