Italy prop Martin Castrogiovanni launched an astonishing tirade at Richard Cockerill after Toulon’s defeat to former club Leicester.
Castrogiovanni was back at Welford Road for the first time since leaving the Tigers after a seven-year spell at the club, but ended up on the losing side in a 25-21 loss.
It was clearly a huge occasion for the veteran tighthead, and there was a lot of chat from both teams throughout the game, as it threatened to boil over on a number of occasions.
And Castrogiovanni clearly felt he had some unfinished business with Tigers boss Cockerill, who he accused of lying over the reasons for his departure.
The 33-year-old made it clear what he thinks of his former coach, using a string of expletives to lay into him.
“I never had the opportunity to defend myself when I left because people talked about this s*** and money and ‘Cockers’ talks about the money, but the real thing when I left this club is because you have [Dan] Cole and you have me,” Castrogiovanni said.
“Cole gets paid half the money from the RFU and I am foreign. What the f*** you want? You have a good f****** tighthead prop playing for England and a hairy f****** Italian.
