Carter rested, Szarzewski out for Racing

Racing 92 are likely to rest Dan Carter for this weekend's Top 14 clash against Toulouse with an eye on the Champions Cup.

Carter relinquished the goalkicking duties in Sunday's quarter-final win over Toulon to Maxime Machenaud after he took a knock to his right knee.

As a result Racing won't be taking any chances over the fitness of their superstar fly-half ahead of their trip to Nottingham to face Leicester Tigers in the semi-finals.

Other players who missed training on Wednesday included Alexandre Dumoulin, Henry Chavancy, Casey Laulala, Johan Goosen and Ben Tameifuna.

Racing already know however that they will be without influential hooker Dimitri Szarzewski against Leicester next weekend.

The veteran was forced off half an hour into Sunday's win, replaced by the impressive Camille Chat, and has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a knee injury.
